Watercolours Workshop - Landscape and Ink

The theme of a landscape can be enhanced using a variety of water soluble art materials. Materials included will be watercolour discs, pigments, inks, pencils and pens. This workshop will give you a sense of magic and wonder with how versatile watercolour can be when you explore techniques such as wet on wet, wet on dry, washes, layering and dry brush to create a landscape.

The gorgeous effects achieved with the right brushes and ability to make water flow using a variety of techniques, will give you a sense of confidence and calm to then blend tones and gradients of colour to give your landscape a feeling of depth. Watercolour papers and cards will also be supplied to broaden your understanding of the best surfaces on which to use your watercolour materials and give you a number of options to choose from for projects. You will complete 3 small rectangular landscapes to take home. Samples and experiments of techniques and skills learnt will be created to document your journey into watercolours. Materials are included in this workshop.

Watercolours Art Workshop shows you how to explore and become confident with water-soluble materials such as pencils, paints and inks. Allowing water to be used to manipulate these materials gives you an opportunity to drip, dribble or spray around a surface. By understanding the boundaries of each media can give you handles to hold onto to achieve more options for its use. Develop some watercolour techniques that could enhance what you might already know or give you a fresh approach to your own style of working with watercolour.
