Drawing Portraits and Mixed Media In these 2 consecutive classes, you'll learn the fundamentals of a portrait and get hands-on experience in a range of different mediums. Our expert artist will guide you through the process, teaching you how to make art pieces that you can take home and cherish.
During the class you'll have the opportunity to explore specific drawing techniques and mediums to build a textured surface. With guidance from our instructor, you'll create a number of small portraits and experiments that can then be developed into an A3 completed artwork in the second class. We'll teach you how to change the surface using different materials to add depth and textures to your creations.
Participants will be inspired to use 2-D media, including permanent pen, charcoal , ink, text, acrylics, impasto and gesso and printing to develop a variety of textural surfaces that can be manipulated, cut, torn and layered into an A3 artwork and one small journal. We'll provide all the materials you need, so you can focus on unleashing your creativity and enjoying the process.
Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience in mixed media, this workshop is designed for everyone. We aim to create a supportive and encouraging environment, so you can feel confident in your abilities and explore your artistic potential with portraiture and a variety of media.
