Drawing Workshop - Watercolour and Drawing August 4th 11th 18th and 25th 2024

Workshop Image

Step away from the chaos of daily life and immerse yourself in the serene world of watercolor and journaling. Discover the joy of self-expression through drawing and watercolour, and let your imagination flow freely onto the pages of your visual journal over 4 sessions. Explore the power of colours, shapes, and textures, and uncover a deeper understanding of yourself along the way. You don't have to be an artist to join, just bring an open mind and a willingness to explore. Join me and unlock your creative potential. The workshop will give you an insight into tools and activities to begin confidently in water-soluble graphite pencil, watercolour pigments and pencils. You will investigate visual arts elements such as line, colour, shape and texture using a variety of simple and fun techniques.
You will be shown some creative and easy ways to take sketching techniques and skills further in exercises designed to get you combining these with water colours. You will also be exploring and experimenting with elements of design and having hands-on experience with a variety of traditional and non-traditional drawing and watercolour styles .

You might have heard that keeping a journal with simple watercolour sketching is a great way to record your thoughts and capture your environment. If you are wanting to de-stress then drawing can help take your mind away from what could be stifling your energy. Typical journaling involves only writing—but for those who are more visually inclined, an art journal is a great alternative. An art journal is a visual diary; it combines elements of writing, drawing, painting, collage, watercolours to express yourself. This includes your everyday life and travels as well as your bigger hopes, dreams, and fears. An A4 journal and all art materials included.
